I continue to get a lot of complaints that all the Important Documents that I put out to be mailed internationally over 2 weeks ago have not arrived or even shown up to be tracked. I mentioned this during the morning meeting and various people said things like "They may not have scanned them" (eep, but sounds likely), and all the other crap that the shipping companies have been giving us lately. I tried asking management if they could please contact the post office and got no response on that one, but did get a response from the shipping company guy that he'd look into it. So we'll see if anything can be done.

On the good news side: * No phones today. * Luis is back! I chatted with him on Slack today, huzzah. * Meetings today were pretty productive. * One meeting in particular was "Hey, in a few months we can totally redo this program so we can just give you an Excel spreadsheet that you won't have to spend hours fixing mistakes on!" Okay, so " a few months" could be anything in this job, but still, very cheering! * This project (unfortunately) involves the Gods of the Giant Org having to be asked permission to let us change to Excel. This was granted. My boss had a meeting with their assistant today and asked what exactly the Gods do to benefit the process other than literally signing a piece of paper and the answer was "nothing!" So my boss tried asking over some kind of text (email? unsure) if we could perhaps get some kind of exception made regarding their requirements. I am so proud of her for asking. Now she's afraid of getting fired, though. We'll see. No response today, anyway.
