Cast list as of November 2019

Saturday day: very tired, still woke too early, stayed in bed for hours, ignored all texts until 10 a.m. Eventually got up, unpacked my haul from yesterday and realized that two things I bought were missing :( I found one out of two in the trunk, which is both good and bad, sigh.

I went out to lunch at Panera (crowded, mostly mask-free....I give up) with Rae and Ashley, who I hadn't hung out with in a month. Rae is going to Six Flags tomorrow and otherwise happy about trips, and was all dressed up today and looking lovely. I showed them all photos of the set and of my shopping, Ashley said she wanted to go and I said, "the only reason I didn't invite you was that it's a huge walking event." We'll see if she's up to it next year. I note that all three of us were tired for various reasons and after lunch, everyone said they were going home to nap. Me included, though it was more like "lie in bed not sleeping for 2 hours."

As for karaoke: I was assuming something like "Jim got into a bar fight," but nope, he just had the sound up loud and couldn't figure out how to fix it and the workers couldn't hear and asked him to turn it down and it sounds like he got a bit 'tudey about it. (I was all "hey, maybe just say you can't figure out how to turn it down" rather than act like you don't want to?" next time? I remember years ago when I was taking a flameworking class and the teacher had a similar reaction to being told to turn down the sound...and then he ended up not teaching any more.) However, it doesn't sound like he's totally fired, as he's being allowed back once more next week...which sounds more like karaoke isn't over after all. Okay then. I gather he's also trying to get it back outside again, but neighbors have complained at the noise and I was all "What neighbors?! That bar is OUT IN THE STICKS!!!" But anyway, karaoke is not over and I don't have to send any sad group texts about it now.

At one point, Rae started showing me Loki porn on her phone, while I was driving. I'm gonna politely leave the rest of the X-rated conversation at that :P

Ashley is back at work, going to start another part-time job at a coffee place, heart stuff is going on but not bad enough to prevent her from walking or going out. She actually walked a bunch of blocks today, which was impressive. Oh yeah, and we had this (approximate) conversation while I was driving her home:

Ashley: "Have I ever mentioned liking anyone before?" Me: "Nope, this has never come up in conversation." (I had assumed she was asexual/didn't care/doesn't know any hotties or whatever.) Ashley: "Well, I like girls now." (Or at least a specific one.) Me: "Congratulations."

After I dropped Ashley off, Rae asked if I had any dudes in my life. I vaguely explained the whole Scott situation without mentioning his name, though she asked for a brief description. I said you haven't met him (and who knows if she ever will, really) but he went to karaoke before the pandemic. I asked him out, thought he liked me, he said no, nowadays I still kinda wonder, etc. Sigh. Not something I super wanted to get into, but she asked. I'd be more concerned about this (literally, you never know what's going to say, and there's TMI reasons why I'm not recounting more of the porn conversation even though it was funny) if I thought they'd ever meet, but obviously I don't think that's gonna happen anyway.

Obviously I did not go to the Woodland audition today. I figured that (a) if I'm going to be done with the show in enough time to go Sunday, I'll go then, I want to hang out with people I haven't seen in awhile today, and (b) duh, if I can go at the same as Scott, I'll do it :P Also maybe drop off the present. I think I'm tired of trying to drop it off on the first weekend of the month when they are swamped. If I don't run into him at an audition, I'll drive it by Thursday or something.

Saturday night:

We watched Sofia's skydiving video. She wants to go again.
Katrina had her husband sit on the side of the stage where he can see her fan kick in a very short skirt.

"Does anyone need help with anything?" -Katrina "Can you get glue to dry faster?" -Sierra. Later: "I put my eyelashes on backwards, it's fine." (I couldn't notice.)

Karam did not want to go full peepee dance in front of her parents.

The bear has a TP headband. Marie: "I'm glad someone noticed that, it's so small on him."

Sofia: "On the inside, I'm whiter than a pumpkin spice latte. Someone asked if I grew up in the ghetto and I said no!"

Sofia: "My cop character is the father of my baby."

Karam: "I will not be wearing a white dress, but I need to know every detail on Say Yes To The Dress."

Show insights: The theme of this show is torturing Hope. No wonder she goes mad and homicidal... "The regulating business of cash and spillage." -they charge people to pee so they don't do it as much and don't have spillage (I note that comes up as an issue once Bobby lets everyone "pee free," though he's less concerned about it than others).

Also, whatever happened to all the cops during Cop Song when by the end of act 1, there are only two cops? "We got lost getting donuts."

During the show:

Steve did not mention Easter eggs (sigh) but did introduce the show as "the show that pisses me off."

As Morgan was writhing on the floor during "Look At The Sky" like she's melting in The Wizard of Oz, Sarah to me: "If she dies, we get to pee free."

I hit Amy with a sign. SIGH. :(

Sierra had several bad moments of being off on songs a bit and her foot ropes coming untied. "Something is always going to go wrong on opening night."

In audience: Eddie, other folks in Hunchback I don't know, Sierra from TnT, Alexis from The Producers.

Afterwards at Woodstocks: I don't super remember a lot of the conversation to recap it. Apparently in the men's room one day, Paul said something along the lines of "Which of these cartoon characters would you like to fuck?" and now this has turned into a game of "Pass or Smash?" where Clocky selects 6 random characters a day and then you indicate who's bangable....

Clocky has played the same character in Fiddler four times and figures he can do one more.

They all discussed Sweeney Todd in great detail. I haven't seen this one and suspect I won't want to be in it, but it doesn't sound like it's really a show with ensemble in it anyway. There's a "letter" chorus and then otherwise "you play bricks on stage." ????

Morgan talked about how some girls have been shitty to her in the past. Tomas and Morgan mentioned finding out about pedophiles at the theater (gone now, obviously) and also, at some point some couple were caught banging in the parking lot. "Why didn't they go anywhere else?"

Sierra talked about directing kids back in the day, sounds like she did a really good job at it, and also meeting her fiance and having guy friends guard her at parties (one drank a drugged drink meant for her), and how her sister is the opposite of her.

I was out till after 1. Then didn't sleep for shit again, sigh.
